About the Speakers
Barry Kramer is a corporate and securities partner in the law firm of Fenwick & West. In his more than 20 years of practicing law, Mr. Kramer has represented a wide range of technology companies, from privately held startups to publicly traded companies, as well as prominent venture capital funds. He authors the Fenwick & West quarterly venture capital survey, speaks frequently on business and legal topics including PLI programs related to venture investing, and teaches the UCSF course A Scientist’s Guide to Intellectual Property.
Jeb Miller has extensive experience working with early stage companies and focuses his investments on innovative opportunities across the mobile and enterprise applications and infrastructure sectors. Jeb's current board seats include AdInfuse, Atto Devices, Fultec and Innotas and he is actively involved with Caymas, MonoSphere, ONStor, OpSource, Sonopia and Vyatta. Jeb joined ComVentures from Worldview Technology Partners, where he invested in enterprise software and data center infrastructure companies. Jeb previously served on the Board of Directors for FineGround Networks (acquired by Cisco), LogLogic and Rhapsody Networks (acquired by Brocade), and was a Board observer for Azul Systems, BitPass, Cemaphore, Collation (acquired by IBM), IntruVert Networks (acquired by McAfee), Mirapoint, nSite, Purisma and 3PAR. Prior to Worldview, Jeb co founded Morgan Stanley Technology Ventures, where he focused on investments in the data center infrastructure and storage sectors. Jeb graduated summa cum laude from Harvard with a BA in Economics.
Rani Cohen has been involved in numerous exits for technology companies in Israel, Europe and the United States, including several successful public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Rani has extensive hands-on experience with start-up companies, including raising funds from top-tier VC firms and launching their U.S. operations.
David Epstein joined Crosslink in 2001 and is a partner focusing on technology/semiconductor venture investing activities; he currently sits on the boards of Blue Arc, Egenera, Plato Networks and ReVera. Dave has been starting, managing and helping high tech companies grow for over 25 years. Prior to joining Crosslink, Dave served as strategic consultant to Transmeta, CEO of XStream Logic and founding CEO of Raycer Graphics. He was Vice President of Engineering at NexGen and Kendall Square Research after starting his career at Data General, which was chronicled in Tracy Kidder's "Soul of a New Machine." Dave is a member of the Editorial Board of Microprocessor Report, and is named on 13 patents in Computer Architecture and Systems.
